Is there anything more sharply evocative than the smell and taste of coffee? Well it can also provide a range of benefits for your skin, which is why we like to include coffee seed oil and coffee grounds in a number of our products, including handmade soap. Â

Â
Coffee Seed Oil
Coffee seed oil can be extracted from either roasted or green coffee beans.Â
Properties
A known anti-inflammatory, coffee seed oil contains enzymes that can actually help treat inflamed or acne-prone skin. Its rich skin-loving profile includes vitamin E, antioxidants and phytosterols.
There is some evidence to suggest coffee seed oil has an anti-ageing effect not dissimilar to that of  hyaluronic acid. Â
Coffee seed oil in soap
Coffee seed oil may help with collagen and elastin levels in the skin for a firmer look and feel, as well as relieve skin irritation. Additionally, coffee seed oil has a delicious aroma that gives soap an enticing smell.Â
Coffee Grounds
Simply put, ground coffee beans are a superb exfoliant.
Properties
Coffee grounds are rich in antioxidants and could even help protect your skin from sun damage. They're also known to contain calcium, potassium and magnesium.
In soap
Coffee grounds are a 'large' exfoliant, meaning that they're scrub-intensive and do a great job of removing dirt and dead cells from your skin.
