Black Pepper Oil is steam-distilled from the berries of the black pepper plant—piper nigrum—and has a sweet, warm and spicy scent with woody undertones.
Black pepper oil is well-known for its high antioxidant content and anti-inflammatory properties. In particular, it is high in sesquiterpenes and monoterpenes, chemicals renowned for supporting a healthy immune system.
A warming oil, it is often used in blended massage oils to relieve muscular aches and pains.
How to use Black Pepper Oil
There are three ways of administering Black Pepper Oil.
Promote a vibrant, mentally-stimulating environment in your home by adding one or two drops of Black Pepper Essential Oil to a steam diffuser, ultrasonic diffuser or oil burner.
Create a warming massage oil to relieve sore muscles by adding 2.5% Black Pepper Essential Oil to a carrier oil. (After adding to carrier oil, test on a small patch of skin first.) Blends very nicely with ginger, white camphor and eucalyptus oils.
Creating a soap using Black Pepper Essential Oil gives it a pleasant spicy, woody scent—a relaxing soap that can be used at the end of a long day.
Essential Oils are highly concentrated and must be used with care.
Not to be taken internally.
Do not use black pepper oil for treating medical conditions without first speaking to a medical professional.
